12 DIYs of Christmas: Add some Holiday Cheer to your Small Apartment or Living Space with these Festive DIY projects for a Beautiful Bohemian Christmas

It's that time of year again! How does it always sneak up so fast?! And why do we always decide to move house right before it?! We're officially crazy... but Christmas is a great excuse for DIY craft projects and glitter glue ...as if I ever needed one?!

This Christmas, after moving back into Mum's to save money for our narrowboat, we just wont have the space for the big 6 foot Norwegian Spruce Christmas tree we rocked in the Creepy cottage or Townhouse, so I have been looking for some inspiration for alternative festive decorations and projects that don't eat up your living space. And there are some lovely ways to add a little festive cheer to even the smallest spaces. Bonus, if you don't live in shoebox like we do at the mo and have a large home, even better.. you can just make even more of them!

Here are some of my absolute favourite festive DIYs for a beautiful Bohemian Christmas with links to the original tutorials.

Her entire blog is full of amazing DIY projects and ideas so head over there now for this tutorial and a bunch more awesome-sauce. Plus there are cats.

The bright colours of these luxurious little pom pom garlands add instant festive cheer and they are so quick & easy to make. Especially if you use the hand wrap method, see a lovely clear tutorial of that by danamadeit by clicking here.... or for making them in bulk, this genius tutorial by Flax & Twine here . That Christmas tree made from branches would also be a great and relatively simple DIY project.

Marshmallow Snow Fall Garland Mantle Decor by Blue Eyed Yonder

Marshmallow  Snow Garland by Blue Eyed Yonder - click here

This has to be one of the most creative and adorable mantles I have ever seen! Blue Eyed Yonder made this whimsical Winter Wonderland in her Southern US home and it is truly stunning. Follow the link here for more DIY and vintage goodness. String together as many marshmallows as you can without eating them and suspend on a rod or cane above the fireplace - just don't light it!

As with all small space decorating, you need to use your vertical space so these pretty whimsical bauble and ribbon chandeliers are perfect! Simply hang them from your mirrors, picture frames, or shelving and suspend from ceilings to create a beautiful candy-coloured winter wonderland. Get the tutorial from RealSimple here

Glitter Fruit Decorations

I love glitter any time of the year but at Christmas time it's an essential. The more of it the better. This is a great way to add a little sparkle to your coffee or dining table if you don't have space for lots of decor because your living space is small. All you need is some PVA, a ton of glitter and some plastic fruit from the £1 or dollar store.

Match Stick Art Snowflake Decorations

This DIY prject has been doing the rounds on Pinterest for a few years now and comes with detailed instructions but I cannot find the original source anywhere to credit the craftster - if you know please comment below! But basically you need cardboard and burnt matched and some glue to make these beautiful rustic looking boho stars and snowflakes. Make a batch and attach your walls using blu-tac or picture hanging tape for a nordic feel.
